About (Long)

I have a tendency to grow beards, write software, drink Jack Daniels, tell stories and photograph things.

I’m an interesting but sometimes annoying mix of nerd, pop-culture, philosopher and frat-boy mentalities.

I drive a Subaru.

I’m a scientist at heart. I have a degree in Computer Science and interests in Physics, Philosophy, Literature, Anthropology and Archaeology. Physics has always been and always will be my first academic love.

I always want to know how anything and everything works. I take things apart and make other things out of them. It’s a trait I share with my siblings.

I just want to understand our world better, and will always ask questions of those of any particular expertise.

I’ve been working on the design, optimization and development of computer systems for nearly 10 years. I have been working professionally on the development of Retail Technologies for 6 years.

I took up Photography as a hobby 4 years ago, and occasionally photograph events and special projects on a contract basis. I’m always looking for people who would like to collaborate on something new.

I enjoy candid photographs of people and animals… the type of photos that stimulate emotion or capture a point in life, not so much seeking to manufacture it.

I wanted to be a chef as a kid. I still love to cook.

I love chocolate milk and good beer, though not necessarily at the same time.

I make bread. I think it’s an important thing to do, like getting back to our roots. Few things are more fundamental than bread.

I’m a terrible liar so I don’t do it. Most people don’t believe the truth anyway.

I’m familiar. Many people have told me I look like someone they know.

I’m a work in progress.

I have a good life. I try to make the most of it.

Otherwise I’m just your average American guy, with a basic understanding of origami.
